Vote NO on Question 7

We’re not going back. Question 7 adds new barriers to the ballot. Nevada’s elections are already fair, safe, and accurate—this measure isn’t needed, and it would harm elders, students, working class families, and rural Nevadans.

What is Question 7?

Q7 is a citizen-initiated constitutional amendment that would require voters to present photo ID for in-person voting or provide additional personal information for mail voting.

State of Play & National Trends

Since 2020, claims of widespread voter fraud have surged—but have been rejected by courts across the political spectrum. Still, many states have passed laws that make voting harder.

  • Restrictions on voter registration and mail voting
  • Polling place closures and relocations
  • Voter roll purges and intimidation
  • Shelby County v. Holder weakened federal protections

Voter Suppression: A Brief History

Jim Crow Tactics

  • Poll & literacy taxes/tests
  • “Good character” requirements
  • Grandfather clauses
  • Whites-only primaries

Modern Versions

  • Strict voter ID laws
  • Reduced early/absentee options
  • Disinformation campaigns
  • Targeted intimidation

Throughline

Different tools, same goal: make it harder for certain people to vote.

Nevada Elections Are Already Secure

  • Multiple layers of security protect ballot integrity
  • Enhanced communication between County Clerks and the Secretary of State
  • Signature verification and bipartisan review of mail ballots
  • Photo ID already required for same-day registration

There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in Nevada—or nationally.
